I always hear about people meeting players this way. Im trying to meet some of the New York Mets players next week in San Fran. I only get to see the Mets once a year so id love to meet some of the players.

Hotels are homes-away-from home.

Do you know where most teams stay when they come to San Fran? Every major league city tends to have one hotel which is used by every visiting team that comes in.

I am a big autograph collector, and one piece of advice, if you do find out where they stay, DO NOT go inside the hotel in search of the players. Stand outside and try to get them as they get into a taxi, shuttle, team bus, whatever. And listen to the instructions of any hotel staff, especially security. This will help make it easier for everyone there trying for an autograph/photo. If you are respectful, you’ll usually have no problem. Try to skirt their instructions, or get mouthy with them, and they’ll most likely try to make you leave.

Definitely higher end hotels in each city… visiting teams in Atlanta stay at he Ritz-Carlton… I’ve seen a few visiting teams there this season… best thing to do is to talk to the bell boys or concierge people in the higher end hotels in your city… makes friends with them, and sometimes they’ll leak that information to you… (remember, this information is usually kept on the downlow for privacy/security reasons), so be subtle about it….
