Call the front desk, get a manager. If you have to, threaten to get the owner… Chains and resorts are likely to perform a real search for it, hole-in-the-wall places won’t.
this may sound slightly mean but just buy another one for your son - the chances are they’ll be long gone; or alternatively buy another toy for him that you know he will like and then that will become his new favourite toy =) hope i helped
go to the front desk and tell them whats up the cleaning staff my have thought it was trash or thought they needed it more than you do im sure they can help as much as they can

Report it to the Front Desk, and be sure to mention it was his favorite toy. Also leave your mailing address, just in case they find it.
