I was able to book a hotel at 18. There is no minimum age to book a room as long as you got the money, and I would be surprised if they refuse to let you book a room. You can make sure by giving the hotel a call or e-mail.

I’m not sure on the exact law, I can only go by experience and word of mouth. I’ve been told that you have to be 21– but I once booked a hotel room for myself when I was 17 because I had a credit card under my name.
I’ve also heard that the exact rule is you have to be 21 to have OTHER people in your hotel room, but I’ve also broken that rule first-hand aswell.
I did search online and I cannot find anything regarding an actual law, so I’m going to have to say from experience that 18 is old enough to book a hotel. Since the time I was 17, I’ve booked hotels for myself (online and in person aswell) 12 times. These bookings were in various cities across the US, and in Montrea, Canada.
I was only asked for I.D. once, and that was because my credit card says “see I.D.” on the back of it. Nobody ever questioned my age.

The usual minimum age is 18 because that is the youngest you can legally sign a contract in most places (the registration card you sign is effectively a contract).
Many hotels in the USA require age 21 but that is because the rooms are equipped with a mini-bar that contains alcoholic beverages - the legal drinking age is now 21 in all of the USA.
If a hotel website says age 21 is required then call the individual hotel to ask if they have rooms without alcohol that you can legally rent.

some say 21, but when you book only the ages for adults are 19 and up.. so maybe 19?
